Klopp explains why he sold two Liverpool stars

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has explained the reasons behind the decision to allow Dominic Solanke and Nathaniel Clyne leave Liverpool for Bournemouth on Friday, despite fans urged the pairs to stay due to the club’s pursuit for major trophies this season.

The manager told reporters at Melwood: “They are two different cases, obviously. Football is a business on the one hand side, and on the other side we have to care about people and their situation.“For Dom, it was absolutely right to go. It was a bit unlucky for him in the moments when there was space for him, when it was easier to come into the team, that he had injuries. In the other moments, the squad was full and we had different options. He trained pretty well but you cannot stay confident over that long a period [without playing], especially not in his age group. He didn’t play a lot for Chelsea and so he needed to play football now.

Solanke has earlier reported being linked with a move to Stephen Gerrard’s Rangers, but the English manager claimed that no reports had been made officially from Liverpool. and it’s not the players choice to move to Rangers this month. another deal earlier collapsed to Crystal Palace after Liverpool boss announced the striker not been fit due to lack of playing time. However, Rangers have gotten a solution to their striking problem, signing former Tottenham and Bournemouth striker Jermain Defoe this month. after two Nigerian born player Umar Sadiq and Ovie Ejaria made their way back to their current owners earlier.
